Was the goal established properly?

Step 1: Establish our goal and rechecking if it’s established properly from time to time revisiting them: The goal is to help communities of people to grow their own food. The key motivations are to help people establish home gardens on unused spaces in urban communities to overcome food insecurity and poverty. The envisioned outcome would be hunger free, sustainable community.

Was the strategy on point?

Step 2: Strategy: Anticipating potential obstacles such as threats posed through community gardening initiatives, the need for more and more vertical garden structures to organize space in urban communities are a few to name some. You also need to devise solutions such as developing pace saving planters using low cost materials to keep overhead costs down, working on B2B environment by encouraging landscaping businesses to our purchase planters directly from us to save time in reaching customers. The skills set of our team members from marketing, agriculture, development and do benchmarking with other organizations doing similar work and identify potential competitors, threats through a SWOT analysis. Then set strategic principles to achieve our goal.

Did the plan reflect the strategy?

Step 3: Planning: Create a task list by week/day and integrate tasks into the schedule. Using a backlog system is also good.

Checking if the plan got executed properly

Step 4: Execution: Execute the plan, track the progress by checking them through each action taken

Step 5: Review: Track our results, evaluate the status vs target. Identify the ideas, actions that worked well and continue them, while discarding the ones that failed.

Review previous steps to see what went wrong if the action didn’t go well.
