Final Assignment: Part 11 : 2023 GOAL

The goal I would like to reach by 2023 is…
A long term goal of Eshkol is to start a sustainability school that teaches young people how to live a self- reliant life style by educating for sustainability, through community-integrated, entrepreneurial learning, in a wall-less, natural environment. Our holistic, student-guided approach will inspire and empower youth to be green leaders. What do you want in a school? When you step onto a school campus, what do you want to see, hear, experience and feel? Imagine this is going to be a school without walls, a campus which ignites the senses and the natural curiosity of children, a natural place where innovation, creativity and learning flourish, a community, which has come together from all corners of the country to share new experiences, a place of joy.
The greater vision for this goal is…
We like to see our children learning by doing, hearing deep and meaningful student discussions, experiencing daily growth as a whole person and feeling the joy of being part of a vibrant community of learners is the experience we wish to deliver through our impact model.
The greatest challenge that I foresee in reaching this goal is…
Funding, Funding, Funding. This project is incredibly expensive.
What will help me to reach this goal is…
Support and connections with educationists as well as the general public educating them about the importance of alternative education

To reach this goal I will have to overcome…
I am currently challenged by the need to find a huge land to build the school. Although we function at a small scale as a center we will have to test our activities, develop a curriculum, find capital to grow our membership, increase the number of volunteers and paid tutors, promoting our workshops in schools, and working to attract long term sponsors.

Part 12
2019

The goal I would like to reach by 2019 is…
Expand our Eshkol membership to schools and increase membership by 20% by the end of 2019.

The greater vision for this goal is…
I am very fortunate to be a recipient of the Global Schools Ambassador and Local Pathways Fellowship by SDSN UN. All this would not have been possible without the motivation and determination that the Eshkol community has given me. Whether it is in a change of direction, a determination to stick to the hard path or in setting up Eshkol projects in their school, it is these ripples of impact which remind me that Eshkol is making a difference.

The greatest challenge that I foresee in reaching this goal is…
Getting approval from the state councils and public schools

What will help me to reach this goal is…
Each school has its own process so it is about providing support to enable them to be able to have the commitment to follow the process which can be difficult.

To reach this goal I will have to overcome…
My belief that I don’t have enough resources to approach all schools at an equal pace and adequate funding to expand the work.
